MVP encourages parents and guardians to spend time online with their children and to supervise their children’s activities on the World Wide Web. MVP suggests that parents consider using parental control tools available from online services and software manufacturers that may help ensure a child friendly online environment and help direct their children to suitable, child-oriented web sites.
This Privacy Policy only covers information collected at this Web Site, and does not cover any information collected by any other Web Site or offline by MVP (unless specifically stated), its affiliates or any other company. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. In addition, please review our Terms of Use, which governs your use of this Web Site. We hope this disclosure will help increase your confidence in our site and enhance your experience on the Internet.
How We Collect & Use Your Information
At our MVP sites, you can order products, enter contests, vote in polls or otherwise express an opinion, subscribe to one of our services such as our online newsletters, or participate in one of our online forums or communities. Generally, you may browse this Web Site without providing any personal information about yourself, which is information that could reasonably be used to identify you personally. The types of personally identifiable information that may be collected at these pages include your name, address, birth date or email address, which we refer to as “PII.” We may ask you to voluntarily provide us with certain PII when you register with us or at other times, such as if you choose to participate in or receive information about our online forums and communities, publications, games, contests, sweepstakes, surveys and/or promotional events.
We may also ask you to provide us with demographic information or information regarding your interests, hobbies, your interests in and use of various products, programs, and services or similar information. Providing us with information about yourself is completely voluntary, and you can always choose not to provide certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of or participate in many of the Web Site’s features. Such information allows MVP to personalize your experience and helps MVP better understand the demographics of our audience. For most activities, we collect only your name, e-mail address, birth date, gender, and zip code. When you make a purchase, we also collect your street and billing addresses, your phone number, and credit card information. Depending on what you purchase, we may also need to collect other personal information, like your clothing size.
You can submit information about other people. You may have the opportunity to provide us with the PII, such as name or e-mail address, of someone else, such as if you chose to e-mail a friend an article, electronic greeting card, screen saver or other special feature from our Web Site. If you order a gift online and want it sent directly to the recipient, you may submit the recipient’s name and address. The types of personally identifiable information that may be collected about other people at these pages include recipient’s name, address, e-mail address.
MVP uses personally identifiable information in a limited number of ways. We use the information to complete transactions. For instance, if you contact us for help we will use the information to contact you. We use information collected to notify you if you’ve won a game or contest. Information we collect is used to send you e-mail updates and newsletters about our sites. We also use the information you provide to send you MVP e-mail promotions and special offers from our third-party sponsors. We may combine the information about you that we collect at this Web Site with information available to us from other sources. For example, you may provide PII to us at other MVP web sites, or our co-promoters or sponsors may provide us with information, including PII, about users that choose to participate in a promotional opportunity the co-promoter or sponsor is offering in connection with MVP.
We use the information that you provide about others to enable us to send them your gifts, screensavers or cards. From time to time, we also may use this information to offer our products, programs, or services to them.
The information we collect in connection with our online forums and communities is used to provide an interactive experience. We use this information to facilitate participation in these online forums and communities and, from time to time, to offer you products, programs, or services.
MVP sites collect some information about you using technology, so it may not be readily apparent to you that it is being collected. When you visit this Web Site, our web servers automatically collect web site usage information. Web site usage information is non-identifying, aggregate information that describes how our visitors use and navigate our Web Site, and it includes the number and frequency of visitors to each web page and the length of their stays. We also collect the non-identifying information automatically sent to us by your web browser, such as browser type, referrer data that identifies the web page visited prior and subsequent to visiting our Web Site, and IP addresses (see below for more information on IP addresses). We also may determine the technology available through your browser in order to serve you the most appropriate version of a web page.
When you come to our site your IP address is collected so that we know where to send information you are requesting. An IP address is often associated with the place from which you enter the Internet like your ISP (Internet Service Provider), your company, or your university. This information is not personally identifiable. An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer or network when you are on the Internet. When you request pages from this Web Site, our servers log your IP address.
We sometimes use the non-personally identifiable information that we collect to improve the design and content of our site and to enable us to personalize your Internet experience. We also may use this information in the aggregate to analyze site usage, measure our traffic, as well as to offer you products, programs, or services. MVP sites use information collected through technology to make our sites more interesting and useful to you. MVP may also use IP addresses for a number of other purposes, such as system administration, to report aggregate information to our business partners or to audit the use of the Web Site.
Like most web sites, this Web Site sometimes makes use of browser “cookies.” Cookies are pieces of information that a web site either transfers to your computer’s hard drive or stores temporarily in your computer’s memory for record-keeping purposes. These pieces of information allow the Web site to remember important information that will make your use of that site more useful. MVP does not save PII in cookies. MVP and other Internet companies use cookies for a variety of purposes. For example, we sometimes use cookies when we conduct polls, contests or sweepstakes to limit multiple responses and registrations or track merchandise ordered. We may also use cookies to track usage patterns on the Web Site or to analyze web activity.
Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser (like Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) settings. Each browser is different, so look at your browser Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you turn cookies off, you may not be able to take advantage of or participate in certain features of this Web Site, like the features mentioned above, and some of our services will not function properly.
How We Share Your Information
MVP isn’t in the business of selling information about our visitors or buying consumer information. However, if there is a value for you, we will share your information or send you messages on behalf of another company as described below. We will also share information for security reasons.
When we hire companies to help us deliver products or services, we will need to share your information with them. For example, a courier would be allowed to use the information only to deliver the product or service.
On occasion, we offer promotions such as sweepstakes or free subscriptions, in conjunction with a sponsor. We will share your information with the sponsors if they need it to send you a product, such as a magazine subscription. We may share your information with those sponsors so that they can send you other special promotions they offer. In addition, MVP occasionally sends e-mail promotions to our visitors on behalf of third-party sponsors. In this instance, we don’t share your name with the third-party we do the mailing for them. You have the choice to either accept or decline the email.
On some of our sites, we provide content that is created by a third-party partner Web site. In some instances the third-party sites will collect information in order to facilitate the transaction or to make the use of their content more productive and efficient. In these circumstances the information collected is shared between MVP and our third-party sponsors.
If you choose to submit content for publication (e.g., a “letter to our editors”), we may publish your screen name and other information you have provided to us.
We will give out personal information as required by law, for example, to comply with a court order or subpoena; to enforce our Terms of Service, or site; or to protect the safety and security of our visitors and our sites.
All forums/message boards have a disclaimer stating that DLP retains the right to control conversations through our message boards. By this we mean controlling profanity, extreme erotica, illegal use, etc. By using our forums/message boards, you are voluntarily giving us the right to publicize contents of your interactions. Please do not use our forums/message boards if you do not wish your interactions to be public.
Periodically we may ask you to vote through a poll, or we may run a promotional sweepstakes and/or contact — participation is completely voluntary. Information gathered is utilized for statistical purposes.
Unsubscribing
It is possible for you to use much of our site without giving us any PII. If you request or agree to receive information from MVP, such as if you sign up to receive a film newsletter or to receive information about other MVP movies, and except as specifically disclosed on the registration form or otherwise on the web site, you may let us know that you no longer wish to receive such information by unsubscribing from the communication. Also, as mentioned above, there are ways to limit the information collected through technology, though some of our features won’t work if you select this option. Please be aware that we will process your request as quickly as we reasonably can, but it may not be possible to update our systems immediately.
In addition, you should be aware that it is not always possible to completely remove or modify information in our databases. And, your ability to opt out from receiving marketing and promotional material does not change our right to contact you regarding your use of our Web Site or changes to our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use or other policy or terms that affect you and your use of our Web Site.

Security
The importance of security for all personally identifiable information associated with you is of utmost concern to us. MVP takes technical, contractual, administrative, and physical security steps to protect all visitors’ information, including limiting access to the PII contained on our servers. When you provide credit card information, we use, industry standard, secure socket layer (SSL) encryption to protect it. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. MVP cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to MVP and you do so at your own risk. There are some things that you can do to help protect the security of your information as well. For instance, never give out your password, since this is what is used to access all of your account information. Also remember to sign out of your account and close your browser window when you finish surfing the Web, so that other people using the same computer won’t have access to your information.
Website Links
Please be aware that when you are on our Web Site you could be directed to other web sites and/or online materials through links to other Web pages that take you outside MVP’s service and are beyond MVP’s control. For example, you may encounter links from sponsors or partners, which may include MVP’s logo as part of a co-branding agreement. If you “click” on the link to such a third party, the “click” takes you off our Web Site. These other web sites may set their own cookies, collect data, solicit PII and/or have their own privacy policies. This Privacy Policy only covers information collected at this Web Site, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any other web site you visit.
Consent to Transfer
This Web Site is operated in the United States. If you are located in the European Union, Canada or elsewhere outside of the United States, please be aware that any information you provide to us will be transferred to the United States. By using our Web Site, participating in any of our services and/or providing us with your information, you consent to this transfer.
Acceptance
By using this Web Site, you accept the policies set forth in this Privacy Policy. MVP reserves the right to modify, alter or otherwise update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will post any changes here, so be sure to check back from time to time. Your continued use of the MVP website subsequent to changes to the Privacy Policy shall mean that you accept and agree to the revisions. Please note that you will be able to determine if this Privacy Policy has been amended or updated since your last visit to our website by referring to the “Last Revised” legend at the beginning of this Privacy Policy. However, be assured that we only use the PII you provide to this Web Site in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy unless you give us your consent. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use this MVP website.
